August 7, 2015 – Osborne, Kansas – Osborne Industries, Inc., a custom resin transfer molding firm, was presented with a Consistency Award for reliable, dependable service by Altec Industries, headquartered in St. Joseph, Missouri. The presentation took place at Altec’s Supplier Summit on May 5, 2015, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Osborne began working with Altec Industries 30 years ago, supplying aerial lift platforms for the company’s utility vehicles. Since then, Osborne continues to supply thousands of platforms annually, molded via resin transfer molding (RTM), and adhering stringent testing protocols and product specifications for durability and reliability.
“Back in the 1980s, Altec was seeking a new supplier to help them engineer a stronger, lighter-weight platform than the traditional hand-layup or “chopper-molded” platforms,” said Amy Conrad, Sales & Marketing Manager. “Osborne’s closed-molded RTM process was the answer and has continued to provide consistent and safer platforms ever since.”
The theme of this year’s Supplier Summit was “Commitment to Excellence.” Osborne’s commitment is evident in its continuous drive to improve efficiency, quality and delivery since the firms’ first collaboration with Altec Industries has led to an on-time delivery rate greater than 95%.
“Osborne’s commitment to the success of Altec Industries is evident in our on-time delivery rate, even with the increased volume of resin transfer-molded platforms that we continue to supply,” stated Vicki Corbett, Vice President and Customer Service Manager at Osborne. “We are proud to accept this award on behalf of all our employee-owners working with products we send to Altec facilities around the United States.”
Founded in 1973, Osborne Industries developed a closed-molding process that later became known in the plastics manufacturing industry as resin transfer molding (RTM). Today, Osborne’s RTM molding has expanded across a wide variety of industries including wastewater treatment, military and agriculture.
